National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Pearl Harbor Day

Each year on Dec. 7, the nation remembers Pearl Harbor Day and honors the 2,403 service members and civilians who were killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.  A further 1,178 people were injured in the attack, which permanently sank two U.S. Navy battleships (the USS Arizona and the USS Utah) and destroyed 188 aircraft.

On Aug. 23, 1994, the U.S. Congress designated Dec. 7 as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Every year, remembrance events are held at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, culminating in a commemoration ceremony on Dec. 7. This year is the 78th commemoration of this “day of infamy” and information can be found on the official Pearl Harbor Events page.

On this day of remembrance, we honor all veterans for their service and sacrifice to defend our American freedoms.  It also draws our attention to the challenges facing many veterans, including post-traumatic stress disorder, lasting injuries, disproportionate homelessness and suicide rates and other challenges integrating back into their daily lives.  We are forever grateful for their service, and it is our duty to care for and support those fought for our country.

We here at FedBiz Access honor that sacrifice and proudly offer a support service to help Veteran-Owned Small Businesses “VOSB” and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses “SDVOSB” (collectively “(SD)VOSB”) expedite registration for the certification as a VOSB or SDVOSB business eligible for certain federal contracts set-aside specifically under the (SD)VOSB designation.

We encourage everyone to take the time to thank a veteran today and every day for their service and sacrifice. – God Bless America!
