GSA Minimum Sales Enforcement: What MAS Contractors Must Do Now
A common scenario for MAS contractors falling short on sales involves a small business IT or professional services firm that secured a GSA Schedule expecting it to "open doors," but then primarily engaged in open-market federal work, subcontracting, or state and local sales, with very little revenue flowing through the Schedule as a Schedule order. For example, a firm might have reported MAS sales of only $47,000 as its base period nears its end. This often blindsides contractors who mistakenly assume "we’ve sold to the government" is equivalent to "we’ve sold through the Schedule." It's crucial to understand that only legitimate MAS sales, properly reported as MAS sales, count toward the minimum requirement.
