In November the federal government transitioned FBO.gov into a more centralized system under the domain name beta.SAM.gov (subsection ‘Contract Opportunities’).  The General Services Administration (‘GSA’) manages federal acquisition and awards processes through ten online websites which are now being consolidated into one.  This site will become the official U.S. government website for people who make, receive, and manage federal awards.

The GSA has provided this brief overview training video entitled – Opportunities  to demonstrate how to use beta.SAM.gov to search for federal contract opportunities.

Ten website are now being consolidated into one

FBO.gov is the fourth system recently retired and the third to transition into beta.SAM.gov (now including Wage Determinations and Assistance Listing) in the government’s ongoing effort to streamline the federal awards process. The beta site is intended to simplify searching and reporting in a more user-friendly format.  The original sites will coexist with beta.SAM.gov until they are retired. Once the original SAM.gov site has retired, this site will be renamed “SAM.gov.”
