What is SAM.gov registration, and why is it important?
SAM.gov registration is the official federal registration businesses use to pursue federal awards. An active SAM.gov registration allows a business to bid on government contracts and apply directly for federal assistance, such as grants or loans. Reach out to our team if you need help with government contracts!
Do I need a SAM.gov registration to win government contracts?
Yes, in most cases. Offerors and quoters are generally required to be registered in SAM.gov when submitting an offer or quotation and again at the time of award, with limited exceptions under FAR 4.1102, according to our team. When you need help with government contracts, we can assist you.
How long does the SAM registration process take?
SAM.gov states that registration can take up to 10 business days to become active after submission, but the full process can take longer if there are validation issues, documentation requests, IRS/TIN matching concerns, or entity name/address discrepancies. When you have questions or need help with government contracts, reach out to FedBiz Access!
How often does SAM registration need to be renewed?
SAM.gov registration must be renewed every 365 days to remain active, according to our experts. Businesses can also update their registration at any time or during renewal. We’re ready to help when you’re seeking help with government contracts.
What is a Unique Entity ID (UEI)?
A Unique Entity ID, or UEI, is the official identifier assigned through SAM.gov. It is required for entities that want to register to do business with the federal government, bid on federal contracts, or apply directly for federal assistance. SAM.gov also allows some entities to request only a UEI without completing a full registration, but a UEI alone does not allow the entity to apply directly for federal awards. We’re ready to assist you whenever you need help with government contracts.
What is a GSA Schedule Contract?
A GSA Schedule Contract, also known as a Multiple Award Schedule or MAS Contract, allows approved businesses to sell commercial products, services, and solutions to eligible government buyers through GSA with pre-negotiated pricing and contract terms. Our staff is ready to assist with GSA contract management.
Can I register on SAM.gov myself?
Yes. SAM.gov is the official government website, and there is no charge to get a Unique Entity ID, register an entity, or maintain an entity registration. Many businesses still choose professional assistance when they need help with government contracts to help avoid errors, validation delays, and compliance issues.
What information is needed for SAM registration?
For an all awards registration, businesses typically need information such as legal business name, physical address, date/state of incorporation, TIN/EIN, IRS consent information, mailing address, banking/EFT information, NAICS codes, CAGE/NCAGE information where applicable, representations and certifications, points of contact, and ownership details. If you’re seeking help with government contracts, give us a call.
Can small businesses qualify for government contracts?
Absolutely. The federal government uses small business set-asides and sole-source contracting tools to help small businesses compete. Some opportunities are set aside for small businesses generally, while others are tied to SBA contracting programs such as 8(a), HUBZone, Women-Owned Small Business, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business programs. If your small business needs help with government contracts, we’re ready to step in.
What happens if my SAM registration expires?
If your SAM.gov registration expires, your business can become ineligible to submit offers or receive awards that require active registration. During contract performance, maintaining SAM registration is also important because FAR guidance ties registration maintenance to performance and final payment requirements.
